Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As osteopaths are Key Workers I will be open as usual. If I am not able to see you straight away, please be patient and don't get aggressive, as some people did during the first lockdown, because I will not see you at all if you are.

Between appointments I shall be cleaning and ventilating the room to make ready for the next patient.

For example, the over 70 or with other health conditions that need to visit will be seen at the beginning of the day to further minimise risks to them. Info on these categories can be found by following the links in each category below:

  • Clinically Vulnerable People - are advised to exercise caution and consider the necessity of visiting. Patients in this category will be seen at the beginning of the day. For more information see here.

  • Clinically Extremely Vulnerable People - are advised to remain at home and shield. More information here see here.

If you have any of the following symptoms or signs or have been in contact with anyone who shows these symptoms in the last 4 days you will not be able to attend but should self-isolate and follow the advice already set out in NHS and Government recommendations.

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fever

  • Chills

  • Muscle pain

  • Sore throat

  • Loss of taste or smell

Some of the case history may be taken at this stage so be prepared and have information to hand. e.g. a list of current medications.

Please remain aware of your symptom status right up to the time of your appointment. You are welcome to call if you need further advice.

In order to reduce the possibility of contact with other patients please be on time but not overly early for your appointment.

The toilet will be available, please follow the now familiar handwashing advice.

All contact surfaces will have been wiped with min 70% Alcohol sterilising spray/wipes.

Items to be disposed of will be processed in accordance with the guidance in force at the time of the visit. If you receive a mask and take it with you please dispose of it responsibly. (PPE should be double bagged and left for 72 hours before normal domestic disposal)

If you develop symptoms within 4 days of attending please inform me. You should then isolate in accordance with Government and NHS guidance.

If I receive a report of someone developing symptoms following their visit, I will inform all patients seen after them.

If I show any symptoms I will inform everyone I have seen in the last 4 days and advise them to isolate and follow the current Government and NHS guidance. The practice will close for 14 days (to ensure all in the house are clear before reopening).
